Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Rahway, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM
• Cases include Orthopedics, Urology, Podiatry, General Surgery, Bariatric, Neuro Spine
• Must have strong skills in Orthopedics and solid skills in all listed case types
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• On-call requirement: 5 calls per month

  • Weekday on-call: 3:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Mon-Fri)
  • Weekend on-call: 7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Monday
  • Staff can switch on-call duties as needed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1+ years of current acute care Operating Room (OR) experience
• Minimum 1 year of Orthopedics experience, with Orthopedics experience within the last year
• Strong Orthopedics (ORT) skills required
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements & Information

• Must complete annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgment
• Facility-specific orientation and education requirements must be completed prior to start
• Candidates must comply with all health and safety documentation, including immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap) and screenings
• Candidates with a history of positive TB must provide additional medical clearance documentation
• Candidates must complete required competency and certification renewals if expiring within one month of assignment start
• Candidates must provide government-issued photo ID and valid nursing license matching legal name on documentation
• Floating policy applies for assignments switching between sites
• Candidates must complete required online training modules if applicable (e.g., Iron Temple Training for ER and Behavioral Health RNs)

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Strong orthopedic OR skills are emphasized
• On-call duties are mandatory and require flexibility
• EPIC charting experience preferred
