Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg) specialty
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required (both BLS and NIHSS must be AHA)

Job Details

• Unit size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Nurse Aides/CNAs ratio: generally 1:8 to 1:10, also used as sitters
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, start times between 6:45 AM and 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday shifts: As needed
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
• Telemetry patients: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
• Floating: Yes, to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
• Orientation: 1 week general orientation (includes EMR training), plus 2 days floor-specific orientation

Additional Information

• Strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver's license to the hospital
• Four 12-hour shifts per week
