Job Opportunity: OB Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Devils Lake, North Dakota
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols. Deliver care appropriate to the age and needs of patients on the assigned unit. Coordinate patient care within the interdisciplinary team and provide patient education to ensure safe discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily patient rounds to ensure quality care and address unmet needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, rehabilitative).
• Assess patient conditions, set goals, and implement nursing actions to meet patient needs, including discharge planning.
• Promptly assess and manage patient pain symptoms according to standard procedures.
• Identify early warning signs of patient condition changes and respond appropriately, including emergency interventions and contacting clinicians as needed.
• Accurately report patient observations and ensure timely interventions or referrals.
• Complete and submit all incident reports before shift end.
• Maintain communication and provide education to patients and families to optimize understanding and outcomes.
• Delegate nursing interventions safely within scope of practice and competence.
• Perform other duties as needed to support department and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Obstetrics Registered Nurse experience, including Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Experience in OB/GYN nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• STABLE certification
