Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Floating: Yes, position may float between units
- On-Call: No
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Block Schedules: No
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:3
- Special Requirements: Neuro ICU experience preferred if available

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year (0 years minimum experience required)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- NURSYS verification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Additional Requirements
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable ICU setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history with explanations for any gaps or overlaps
- Skills Checklist: Annual update required for applicable units
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required prior to start
- Mandatory Training Modules:
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules via LMS platform (WorkRamp)
- Epic training modules if applicable (especially for Per Diem and SoCal placements)
Work Environment & Dress Code
- Licensed nursing personnel wear solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (print tops generally not allowed except in pediatric units)
- Unlicensed personnel wear solid hunter green uniforms or scrubs
- Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- Neuro ICU experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Floating to other units within reasonable distance may be required
- Weekend work every other weekend is expected
