Job Opportunity: Lead NICU Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM, every other weekend required
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Call Requirements: None


Job Summary

Seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience. This role requires providing respiratory care across various patient age groups with a focus on NICU patients. The position involves working in a hospital respiratory therapy unit with responsibilities including ABG draws, assisting with intubations, and performing various respiratory procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Acute Care settings, including ICU, NICU, and ED
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC, NRP, PALS
  • Ability to draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Unit & Work Environment

  • Unit: Respiratory Therapy
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Procedures Performed:
    • ABGs
    • Assist with intubation
    • Nebulizer treatments
    • Metaneb therapy
    • Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB)
    • Chest Physiotherapy (CPT)

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

  • Scrubs: Black scrubs required (must be purchased)
  • Nail Policy: Clean, healthy nails; no artificial nails, gels, or enhancements
  • Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors; long hair must be pulled back in lab areas
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions handled individually
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; no visible facial or tongue piercings

  • Floating and attendance policies follow company-wide standards
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role
