We're hiring a licensed pharmacist for a contract Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge position at a behavioral hospital in Peoria, IL. You will use clinical and operational expertise to open and establish pharmacy services, ensure safe medication distribution, manage Omnicell automation setup, approve orders, and participate in P&T activities. Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Pharmacist license required.
• Experience as a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge preferred.
• Inpatient hospital experience preferred, ideally in behavioral health settings.
• Experience with Omnicell automation preferred.
• Experience with HCS order entry system preferred.
• Experience setting up or opening a new pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to approve orders, manage P&T meeting responsibilities, and establish formulary and operational workflows.
• Must be able to complete required site-specific credentials including background check, drug screen, HIPAA training, TB test, CPS Code of Conduct, and any additional credentials required by the facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Local candidates preferred. Candidate willingness to discuss travel arrangements will be considered.
• Experience working without pharmacy technician support preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• On-call responsibilities required after each shift; weekend on-call coverage possible.
• Will function as the working Director of Pharmacy and will be responsible for pharmacy opening tasks, Omnicell stocking, and pharmacy setup activities.

Impacting Patient Care

You will lead pharmacy services at a new behavioral health hospital with 100 licensed beds. This role impacts quality of care by establishing safe medication distribution, automation workflows, and clinical governance through P&T oversight. Your work will support the care team and patients in a facility starting operations.
