Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 16 Nurses on staff with 2 patients each and charge nurse out of an assignment. 3 PCA’s staffed on the unit.
Type of equipment : ICP monitoring, EVD management, spinal drains/catheters, arctic sun therapy, continuous EEG, non-invasive cardiac output, wound vac and mechanical ventilators, Heimlich drains,
Documentation system: Epic, MAK, bedside paper flowsheets for ICU documentation
Scheduling requirements: Must be able to work three 12 hours shifts (7am-7pm / 7pm- 7am)
Floating policy: Travelers will be expected to float between the critical care areas: MICU, CCU, CPS, Progressive Critical Care Unit, Neuro Progressive Care Unit. May float to PACU or ED for management of ICU level of care patients.
Patient Experience requirements: Must be able to provide caring, competent, and knowledgeable care in a patient centered approach.

Certifications: Academic Medical Center, Level 1 trauma center (adult); Children’s Hospital within a hospital, NYSDOH Comprehensive Stroke Center
