Job Summary
Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Unit to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and adolescent patients with psychiatric and behavioral health diagnoses.
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 for adults and 6:1 for adolescents, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
- Collaborate with mental health techs, occupational therapy staff, and social workers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Implement de-escalation strategies and utilize communication skills to support patients in crisis.
- Assist in maintaining a secure environment on the unit, utilizing emergency procedures as needed.
- Participate in self-scheduling and meet weekend/holiday coverage requirements as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state eligibility.
- Current BLS Certification and CHI Health Workplace Violence Prevention Certification required.
- Acute inpatient psychiatric experience with a focus on adolescent care preferred.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
- Ability to float within the hospital and meet physical demands of the role.
