Job Summary

Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Oncology to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in a surgical oncology unit, focusing on abdominal and pelvic procedures.
• Float between like units as needed to meet facility requirements and ensure optimal patient care coverage.
• Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation to maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects, ensuring timely intervention as necessary.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-operative care to support recovery goals.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV, Respiratory, and Phlebotomy services, to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Active CO or Compact RN license and current AHA BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment.
• Experience with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios, adaptable to variable staffing needs.
• Proficient in using Epic for hospital information management.
• Ability to float between units and work 12-14 weekend shifts per contract period.
• Teaching hospital experience highly preferred, with prior exposure to surgical oncology settings.
