Surgical patients we recover include: Neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant. Special Procedures/Unit Details : ********* REQUIRED: post cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, Ex-lap and splenectomy and trauma patients. Please call out if they do not have these skills in the screen. *************** REQUIRED: experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia; needs high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU/critical care experience required. ***************High acuity PACU area with 80% of their patients being admitted into the hospital after the procedure/surgery. PACU (Recovery): Unit open 24/7. 38 patient bays. Critical care experience required as some patients require artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs. Surgical patients we recover include: Neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant. We do not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants. Pre-Op: 30 patient bays. Work up patients preoperatively for a multitude of surgical services. They include: Neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, colorectal, GYN, orthopedics, trauma, transplant, cardiothoracic, hepatobiliary, vascular, endoscopy, interventional radiology and urology. EKG rhythm analysis, transfusion, blood drawing, and IV starting capabilities are a few of the requirements. *night shift would have to learn how to work up a preop patientREQUIRED: experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia; needs high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU experience preferred. Special Equipment : *** HARDSTOP: 2 years PACU in level 1 trauma required, ICU/critical care required. Please SCREEN if they have level 2 trauma for manager to review. *********** PLEASE SCREEN if missing any required skills or does not have 2 years level 1 trauma ICU exp. **** Will need to pass Relias EKG exam #Tier2 Travel Compliance Compliance deadline is 3pm CST on the Monday of the week before initial start date. Fit testing : *Travelers must have facial hair that allows for proper testing or will be expected to shave. No exceptions SSN a valid SSN is required by all candidates at time of submittal. DOB required RTO: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. No RTO the first week of an assignment. Certifications not required at time of submittal unless otherwise noted in the job description. Specific Charting Exp Required (ex: epic experience required to submit) EPIC is the charting system throughout BJC system. EPIC experience required for certain units - Please see job description for specific job requirements as each unit varies Bill rate (for hospitals that use bidding system) N/A Background Policy to be noted prior to submission (ex: won't accept any Background hits, will not accept DUIs, etc) No medical marijuana cards accepted Please note: Travelers who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do NOT hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. Return Staff Policy (ex: gone 1 yr or 6 months to return as traveler) Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius, excluding Interim Leadership and RNFA) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months. Profile - Please indicate if your clinician is interested in a longer travel contract than 13 weeks (13 week minimum). For applicable positions, please indicate if your clinician would prefer 36 or 48 hours per week Labs: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing Modules: Modules are billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr Modules are completed pre-start, they are required for RNs and LVS and do not differ per specialty Modules are completed through WorkRamp and uploaded to compliance report Modules should be started within 1 week of signed contract, and MUST be completed 2 Fridays prior to the start date to avoid a delay in starting BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and subsequently cancel it in order to accept another BJC assignment. Contractors are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreement in full. Mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed. If a contract is canceled at the contractor s discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity.
