This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Staff float between the facilities depending on what we have to cover.Shifts starting at 6:30 or 7am Call Required : 2 nurses scheduled daily (see below notes) Weekend Coverage : - Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract : - Pre-Approved Time Off : one Orientation Hours : - Facility & Patient Care Details Patient Age Groups : Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics Daily Census : - Number of Visits Per Day : - Number of Rooms : - Number of Beds : 17 Additional Unit Information Interdisciplinary Support : - Patient Diagnoses : Fairview location only sees outpatientsGeneral GI (EGD and Colonoscopy procedures). Population are going to be our younger, healthier patient population - needing basic/straight-forward procedures like screenings. 2 rooms at Fairview most days and each room is supposed to have 8-12 pt scheduled. UH (hospital) location - outpatients, inpatients, staff go to the OR and/or ICU, and does advanced procedures. Patient with more complex health issues, or the more difficult procedu Special Procedures/Unit Details : Procedures at Fairview EGD, colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, dilation, APC, occasional EMR, and maybe banding. Procedures at UH EGD, Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, PEG Tube placement/exchange, banding, dilation, APC, liver biopsy, EUS, ERCP, EMR, ESD, FTRD, POEMs, Cystgastrostromy, Necrosectomy, portal pressure readings, stent placement, food bolus/foreign body removal, peds GI, etc.Require nurses that were comfortable working in the rooms without a tech and had working knowledge/understanding of the equipment and devices used. Require nurses that can work the rooms, trained in ERCP and EUS procedures, and can process the scopes so they can help with call. Special Equipment : Prep/Recovery at both locations: We have roughly 1 nurse for 2 or 3 prep/recovery bays (depends on the day, the schedule, the physicians working, the number of patients, and how many nurses I have working)---we aim for 1 nurse to 2 bays. Admit & recover - same bayProcedure Rooms- room nurse works in what we call the tech role as well as the circulating nurse role.Scope Room- Covered by nursing staff - Any nurse that is going to take call needs to be able to wash and process scopes. #Tier3 Travel Compliance Email and phone number required. All RTO must be submitted at time of submission no exceptions. Must have 2 years overall experience and 1 year in specialty unless job states otherwise. MO or Compact license must be in hand at time of submission. CPI Blue Card required for Behavioral Health RNs LCSWs. Can be pending at start and completed onsite for free (unpaid). Re-orientation not required if returning within 18 months. 9-month gap required between assignments to return as a traveler. Locals are not accepted within 50 miles of the facility. Candidates within 50-75 miles are accepted at the local rate. RRT and Pharmacy Techs must have license in hand. Cerner experience preferred. Must work 50% of holidays during contract. Floating is mandatory all travelers must float, including as Patient Observers (Sitters). Float Guidelines : ICU may float to PCU or MS units PCU may float to MS or ICU units MS may float to MS/Tele Pediatrics may float anywhere in the organization as a Patient Observer (sitter) Post-Partum may float to MS units L D may float within Maternal/Child Extensions: Effective 4/8/26, travelers can work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts, or 9 months of consecutive service. Contract Breaks: Effective 4/8/26, following the completion of an assignment, a mandatory six (6) month break will be required before returning to MU Health Care in an agency capacity. This applies 13 week contracts, and extensions (up to two 13 week extensions allowed per contract/ 9 months of consecutive service).
