Will allow the consideration of first time travelers ONLY IF they have experience caring for post-op surgical patients (especially Orthopedics and Gastrointestinal surgeries). This is a 23 bed medical surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery and bariatric patients. We do have some overflow from the medicine areas if a bed is available. It s a very busy fast paced unit and usually receives 10-20 post-ops/day. This unit includes cardiac and O2 monitoring capability. Nursing requirements; both medical and surgical skillset and BLS. ACLS not required. EKG exam required to pass during onboarding. Float to other units in skillset. Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility.(BF A. Primarily post-oppatients, as well as medicine patients. Wound vacs; orthopedic equipment. Special Procedures/Unit Details : Will not guarantee block scheduling. Self scheduling with manager final approval. Need experience with wound vacs and solid orthopedic experience. Require strong attention to detail. Familiar with orthopedic equipment. If you are submitting a traveler with a license hit, the submission will be rejected. Weekends will be divided into 2 shifts- 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM. Weekend begins Saturday 6AM and ends Monday morning at 6AM. Floating requirements: PACU to close at 8PM- any patients left recovering will be transferred to main PACU to complete recovery. The IR PACU call team will follow the patient to main OR PACU. IR PACU team will ONLY be responsible for recovering IR PACU patients in the main PACU.
