Infectious Disease: Isolation Precautions. IV therapy: Central Line/Implanted Line Care, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter). NEUROLOGIC: Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. Professional Topic and Skills: Patient/family teaching. Attending high risk deliveries Special Equipment: -Standard NICU equipment: IV pumps, syringe feeding pumps, phototherapy equipment, incubator/isolette/Omnibed/radiant warmers, Neonatal echo available. Telehealth for neonatologist support/consultation. Is on-call REQ? (Y/N) What is the req? Yes. 2 mandatory call shifts every 6 week schedule.Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, To well newborn nursery/postpartum. Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.Open to accommodating block schedule? Lower gestational age will be transferred to higher level NICU. Prefer staff who are cross-trained to attend deliveries and provide 1:1 recovery care of a newborn. Core SLNH NICU nurses are also cross-trained to postpartum/couplet care. Travelers are NOT required to take couplets, but travelers with this experience are preferred. -Travelers will be expected to assist/support well newborn assessments, procedures, etc. when there is no NICU census. Expectation to stabilize and transfer any and all higher acuity and/or lower gestational age newborns, which can include assisting with procedures such as- needle aspiration, chest tube placement, UVC/UAC line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation, surfactant administration, resuscitation, initiation of passive cooling, and any additional procedures. No local travelers allowed, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. RTO: Max of 7 days of RTO for Aya Offer (7+ must be sent for approval along with any holiday RTO). Tenure Policy / Returning Staff and Tenure Policy (excluding Interim Leadership and RNFA roles): 18 months with a 3-month break in service required. Permanent employees (across BJC and/or Saint Lukes) must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. Booking Rules: BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and subsequently cancel it in order to accept another BJC assignment. Contractors are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreement in full. Mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed.
