High acuity step down unit Special Procedures/Unit Details : **** HARDSTOP - need travelers who have proficient exp with the following: Titration of vasopressors (Levophed, Nicardipine, etc), sedation medication, art lines, cardiac arrhythmias, chest tubes, trach vented patients **** Typically we have 1-2 RTs that are assigned to SDU each shift, depending on census. RT is responsible for vents, but RN needs to know how to troubleshoot alarms.**The special procedures and equipment are non-negotiable, as this is the level of care of the floor.** Special Equipment : ***** HARDSTOP - Bipap, Opti flow, art line ******The special procedures and equipment are non-negotiable, as this is the level of care of the floor.** #Tier2 Travel Compliance RTO: Max of 7 days of RTO (7+ days requires manager approval, along with any holiday RTO). No new RTO after submission. No RTO allowed the first week of an assignment. License Information: MO: Submit without license OK; requires MO or compact (no issuance if tied to another compact state). IL: License in hand required at time of submittal. Compact: Must match permanent residence otherwise submit for update + confirm ETA. Radius/Local Rules: No local candidates accepted within 75 mile radius. No local travelers allowed, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants. Tenure Policy / Returning Staff and Tenure Policy (excluding Interim Leadership and RNFA roles): 18 months with a 3-month break in service required. Permanent employees (across BJC and/or Saint Lukes) must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. Floating: All travelers will float within service line. Charting System: Epic Contract Details: Confirm shift in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12, etc.). Please note, contract length is firm. Booking Rules: BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and subsequently cancel it in order to accept another BJC assignment. Contractors are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreement in full. Mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed. If a contract is canceled at the contractor s discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity. Labs: Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing Modules: Modules are billable up to 16 hours at $20/hr.
