Job Details:
- Specialty: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks with options to extend
- Shift Details: Requires weekly availability; prefer not to rotate weeks on/weeks off
- Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts or 3x12-13 hour shifts each week plus 1 rotating Saturday each month; no call required
- All time off requests must be made upfront; time off requests exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months
- Patient population/age range: 13 years to end of life
- Level 1 trauma center with 60 CRNAs, approximately 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents
- Anesthesia team covers 33 ORs in the main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 stand-alone GI center rooms
- Practice locations include main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center
- Practice setting: Inpatient and outpatient
- EMR: Epic
- Hospital bed size: 600
- Skills required: All CRNA scopes of practice
- Cases not included: Open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, and performing peripheral nerve blocks
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; academic background and Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- One year of academic medical center or Level 1 trauma center experience required; preference for experience working regularly with ASA 3+ patients
- Board certification required
- Virginia state license required
- ACLS and BLS certifications must be valid and completed through the AHA
- Must provide 2 full references or contact information for 2 references with submittal
- Provider must live at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates
- If provider has any affiliation with UVA (worked, attended school, or otherwise), this must be noted in the presentation

This facility is a large academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center with 600 beds, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. The anesthesia department is robust, supporting 33 main ORs, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and multiple GI procedure rooms. The department is staffed by a highly experienced team of CRNAs, attending anesthesiologists, and anesthesia residents, providing an academically rich and clinically diverse environment.
