It would include the possibility for some general pediatric developmental occupational therapy coverage as well.*Common Diagnoses Include: Pediatric Feeding Disorder, Oral Aversion, Feeding Difficulties, Dysphagia, ARFID, Failure to Thrive, Autism, Developmental Delay, Motor Delay, Fine Motor Delay, Sensory Processing Difficulties, varied genetic and developmental diagnoses.Start: ASAP*Will spend 1 to 2 weeks at the Plaza location for orientation/training *Shift: 4x10s 0800-1830 Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (off Wed) **start and end times may vary about 30 minutes due to paperwork, which is up to the clinician but patient care hours are 0800-1800 Call Requirements: No on call requirements, may call off based on pt. volume Length of Assignment: 20 weeksYears of experience REQ: 1.5First-timer travelers accepted: (Y/N) : YNational Certs REQ: BLS, NBCOT, CA OT LicenseIs on-call REQ? No on call requirements, may call off based on censusLocals accepted: NRTO Restrictions: 6 days RTO maxGuaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed after the call off policy has been metSpecial Requirements: 1.5 years of experience CA OT License or eligible to obtain if licensed in another state (takes 6-8 weeks to obtain after all required docs are received) Ok if they do not have a CA License in hand. As long as they are licensed in another state they may use the 60 day rule to practice in CA while obtaining their CA license during this time. Maximum RTO is 6 days. NICU Submittals Only Is the candidate willing to float to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg within scope of practice? CVPICU Submittals Only Does the candidate have at least 2 years of cardiac experience? Has the candidate completed formal training in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU, including full orientation as a staff/core nurse? ED Submittals Only Does the candidate s ED experience include a separate Pediatric ED at their facility? General Submittal Requirements RTO: Maximum of 6 days of RTO must be confirmed upfront. Holidays: Traveler is required to work 2 out of 3 holidays. Submittal Limit: Candidate may only be submitted to one job/unit at a time. Compliance Barriers: Any known barriers that could delay or prevent compliance completion before the proposed start date must be disclosed at submission. SSN: SSN is required. DOB: Candidate s DOB must be accurate in the system. Rady uses DOB as the first-time password for Rady systems, and incorrect information may delay orientation. Licensure: California license is required in hand, or an ETA for when the license will post is required to submit. If the candidate does not have a California license, provide the license application status to the AM at submission. Pediatric Experience: If the candidate does not have children s hospital experience but has pediatric experience, list where they cared for pediatric patients under the facilities worked on the profile. Add pediatrics next to the applicable facilities. Local Candidates: Local candidates are not accepted. Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility are considered local. Return Staff: Permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel. DNR / Rehire Eligibility: Rady Children s and Children s Hospital of Orange County have merged to form Rady Children s Health. Any clinician who is a DNR for CHOC will not be considered for Rady. Eligibility for a cancelled CHOC traveler to submit to Rady must be reviewed by Rady leadership. Start/Facility Instructions Required after offer / before start Compliance Deadline Compliance documents are due by the Wednesday prior to start. Float Requirements Candidates may be required to float within the hospital. NICU travelers may be required to float to satellite locations. NICU candidates must be willing to float to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg within scope of practice. Mileage Reimbursement For NICU and HomeCare positions, travelers are reimbursed for mileage when driving to any location other than their assigned home base facility. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate. Reimbursement forms must be submitted within 30 days of floating and must include unit manager approval. Modules Modules are non-billable for RN and Allied travelers. Up to 10 hours of modules may be required. Modules are completed pre-start. Time spent completing modules does not count toward orientation hours. Module hours must be margined for in order to be paid. Module completion is recorded via transcripts. Transcripts confirm whether modules are completed but do not record time spent.
