Additionally, you will provide bedside respiratory care modalities in accordance with hospital and departmental guidelines as ordered by healthcare providers.Function/Duties of Position: Provides therapeutic interventions including but not limited to airway management, therapeutic gases and ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Performs diagnostic procedures including but not limited to sampling of arterial blood, bedside spirometry, spontaneous ventilatory parameters, and point of care testing. Therapeutic modalities and communication approached with reference to age specific needs of the patient, including the Doernbecher Children's Hospital Family Centered Care Program. Assists other Respiratory Care Practitioners and health professionals to provide quality patient care in the spirit of teamwork. Trains new Respiratory Therapists, students and other healthcare team members. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by a manager, supervisor, or lead worker. Demonstrates an understanding of current and all new care modalities and equipment. Completes all competency testing, required in-services and activities. Takes personal responsibility for maintaining competency for equipment and modalities within the Respiratory Care Practitioner scope of practice. Seeks assistance in managing workload as needed. Recognizes the need for guidance and uses expertise of others when appropriate. Utilizes appropriate chain-of-command and committee process to effect change. Special Procedures/Unit Details : PICU, NICU, and Peds floor experience is required.**** OHSU would like the RRT to be able to do acute care floors for all patients. Their flexibility would be beneficial for our staffing needs. Peds would be their primary role during their contract but floating to adult acute care is also an expectation. *** Strong experience in PICU, NICU, and Peds Floors are required. **** PICU to include both medical patients and pre- and post-op cardiac patients, ECMO patients and delivery of INO. Should be well versed with the Hamilton G5 and Hamilton C-1. Prefer experience with the VDR but not required. **** NICU experience must include micro preemies and pre-op cardiac patients, as well as knowledge of 3100A and INO delivery.
