ID: 63879077 Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30) Description: Pre-Op and PACU/Recovery Unit 3/12sShift - FRIDAY - SUNDAY PM SHIFT*MUST HAVE PRE-OP AND PACU EXPERIENCE**No first time travelers**Must be proficient in EPICUnit/Job Details: All nurses are trained to work in Pre-op and PACU combined unit** 2 years of experience required in ER, ICU or PACU All RN Shifts are 12 hours with 0500 start time if in pre-op and 0800/0900/1000 in PACU on weekdays Weekends are 4 RNs, 2 at 0600 and 2 at 0800 Call: Required 2-3 shifts per month (on call with 30 min call back) Call is required for all staff with the call shifts weekdays 2200-0500 and weekends are 12hr call 0600 and 1800 starts Night shifts are Mon Thurs 2000 0430 (only 10 positions) and weekends 12hr 1800 start RN will primarily work in either Pre-op or PACU due to schedules, travelers are first to float All RNs required to take call unless working an off-shift (night or weekend) position as their regular shift. Unit is supported with techs 7 days a week during the day. Main OR is one of three surgical areas on campus. May float to outpatient ortho surgery center or same day surgery center (rarely occurs).Patient population 30 s to 100 s majority are retirement aged very limited pediatric All surgical patients are seen by pre-op RN Special Procedures/Unit Details : ICU, open hearts, neurosurg patients recover in ICU unless ICU is on a holdSurgical services include: Bariatrics, Cardio Thoracic, General, GYN, GYN-Onc, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Plastics, Podiatry, Urology, Vascular and EndovascularAt times will also recover IRL, EP, Cath, pulm, CT/MRI patients if off hours or that recovery area is fullVery busy Robotic program (6 Robots) and very busy Ortho total joint programUnit is staffed 24/7. RN s will care for patient in both pre and post settings if called in and during off shifts. #Tier2 Travel Compliance RTO - should not exceed 7 days and MUST be submitted with profile; if not submitted in profile, it will not be approved. However, ICU will not approve more than 4 days off in a row and EDOSC OR will not allow for any time off. Travelers must work every other holiday but prefer 2/3 holidays or Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and NYE. Traveler is expected to float within skill set Charting Exp Required - Epic computer charting is preferred but not required Background Policy - Background Checks: DUIs are generally allowed as long as there is not a pattern of them Return Staff Rules - Former Eisenhower Medical Center employees must have been gone for 2 or more years to be able to return as a traveler. Scheduling Requests - Candidate should be flexible with scheduling, and any out of norm requests should be submitted with profile *Block scheduling is rarely granted. Extensions : Only one extension is allowed and then the traveler must take the length of the original contract and extension combined off before being able to return to EMC as a traveler again. So, if they work a 13 week contract and then do one 13 week extension then the traveler must take 26 week off before they can return back to them as a traveler again. Inpatient call of/on call policy: Travelers may be called off OR placed on call once per pay period. If placed on call there is a 60 minute call back requirement.
