As a secondary requirement, the technologist should also be proficient in general ultrasound, including abdominal, thyroid, pelvic (transabdominal and transvaginal), and vascular studies (both venous and arterial Doppler). Required credentials include ARDMS certification (with Breast certification strongly preferred, along with Abdomen and OB/GYN), and RVT is preferred for vascular components, with BLS required; ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of recent experience, demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and effectively adapt to varying workflows and equipment.
