The PSOU provides specialized postoperative care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or an extended recovery (up to 23 hours) following surgery.The unit provides comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery and surgical observation. Nurses collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care, perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, provide patient and family education, and coordinate safe discharge planning.Caring for pediatric surgical patients requires strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition. Special Equipment : - #Tier2 Travel Compliance Before You Submit: RTO: Maximum 40 hours per 13-week contract. Verify all RTO is included at submission no additional RTO will be approved after offer acceptance. Pre-Start Time Off: Disclose any vacation between the sign date and start date so an appropriate start date can be requested. Experience: Candidate meets all experience requirements listed in the job description. State License: Pending licenses accepted (must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date ). Nursys Verification: Required with submission. All license actions/hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding with a candidate Certifications: Include copies of all required certifications. References: Required.
