This is a Travel position. You must live more than 30 miles from the facility to be considered for this position.

Description:

Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist

Position Details

• 4x12.0 structured shifts • 36 or 48 hours per week • DEN rotation • Weekends, holidays and on call per unit need

Job Duties

• Work in Adult Cardiac OR caring for a wide variety of patients • Handle CABG's, TAVI's and Heart Failure cases (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart and Heart Transplants) • Use multidisciplinary approach to care for patients of all ages • Provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures • Assist the surgical team from the scrub position during operations • Ensure proper care and handling of instruments • Facilitate room turnover between cases • Maintain sterile technique and safe handling of sharps • Perform surgical counts as per hospital policy • Demonstrate proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered nurse

Job Requirements

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician • Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR • Must have 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operation room • Able to scrub and circulate

Certification(s)

• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

Skills

• Tech License (NY License ONLY) - Required • BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - Required • Two (2) Years Experience - Required - 2 Years • OR experience in a level 1 trauma preferred and able to scrub preferred - Required • 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operation room - Required
