Job Description
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Room. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures and a commitment to ensuring that all supplies and equipment are prepared and available for surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist will assist in maintaining accurate records of medications, instruments, and sharps while ensuring a sterile environment throughout surgical operations.
Key Responsibilities

Knowledge and Preparation:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of surgical procedures and problem-solving skills relevant to ongoing surgical operations. Verify all items on the pick lists and ensure that necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are ready for each procedure, ensuring accurate patient billing for the supplies used.

Sterile Field Setup:
Set up the sterile field promptly with all necessary instruments, maintaining an accurate account of all medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps per organizational policies.

Sterile Environment Maintenance:
Ensure the integrity of the sterile environment by monitoring the sterile field and identifying any breaches in technique.

Equipment Handling:
Demonstrate proper usage and assembly of surgical equipment and disposables, including cleaning and sterilization processes. Ensure all equipment, supplies, and instruments are correctly assembled and in optimal working condition for surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Recent travel experience is highly preferred.
Work Schedule
No on-call or weekend shifts required for this position.
Contract Duration
This position is for a duration of 91 days.
