Job Description

The Emergency Room Care Manager RN is responsible for coordinating care for patients within the emergency department, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in acute care hospital settings and effective case management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct care coordination, discharge planning, and needs assessment for patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans in alignment with regulatory guidelines, including CMS and HIPAA standards.
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with DRG and OSHA regulations.
• Assist in the ordering of durable medical equipment (DME) as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care hospital setting, with preference given to candidates with 3 years of experience.
• Licensure: Valid RN license in Washington or Compact Licensure.
• Certifications: Current BLS certification required; CCM or ACM certification preferred.
• Charting System: Proficiency in Epic charting system is required.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
• Floating: Must be willing to float between units as necessary to meet facility needs.

Patient Care

Will work with a diverse patient population including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

Special Requirements

Inpatient acute care experience is mandatory. Candidates with behavioral hospital experience will not meet the qualifications for this role.
