Position: Infection Preventionist

We are seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist with experience in infection control practices to join our healthcare team. This position requires a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Infection Prevention and is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about enhancing patient safety and health outcomes.

Position Details

• Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
• Travel Experience Required: No
• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years preferred, 5 years preferred
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation Hours: 24
• Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Special Requirements: Must have acute care hospital experience in multiple service lines, including surgery, NICU, Cardiac, Critical Care, and ER.

Qualifications

• Certifications:
  • BLS*
  • CIC (preferred)
• Skills:
  • Infection Prevention Practices / Education / Surveillance
  • Antibiotic Stewardship / MDROs
  • Environmental and Equipment Cleaning
  • Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs)
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Transmission-Based Precautions: Contact, Droplet, Airborne
  • Evidence-Based Guidelines
  • Knowledge of Surveillance Documentation*

Responsibilities

The Infection Preventionist will play a vital role in promoting infection control practices and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting education and training for healthcare personnel.
• Surveillance and reporting of infection trends and data.
• Implementing infection prevention strategies across various departments.
• Ensuring adherence to CDC guidelines and hospital policies.
• Serving in an advisory capacity and collaborating with clinical teams.
