Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift:

Night Shift - Must be available to start ASAP

Hours: 48/week, including every other weekend

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities while preventing illness and injury. This position involves the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and serving as an advocate in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for adhering to all standards of practice and professional development, consistent with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant nursing associations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, designated as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of pharmacology and administer medications safely in accordance with established policies.
• Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, and supply management.
• Comply with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
• Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, supporting initiatives and contributing to peer review.
• Engage in professional development and continuing educational requirements.
• Incorporate nursing research and current evidence into clinical practice.
• Provide mentoring and support for new employees and students.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Required:

• Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

Certifications and Licensure:

• Current Registered Nurse License in state of practice
• BLS Certification (from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• Compliance with unit-specific requirements as necessary

Preferred Certifications:

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
