Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care during labor and delivery, including operating in the role of Baby Nurse.
• Perform critical interventions during high-risk deliveries, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections.
• Administer medications, including anticoagulants and magnesium sulfate, and manage IV therapy.
• Support postpartum care including episiotomy care, lactation support, and pain management.
• Conduct neonatal care, including assessments, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation.
• Participate in the care of patients with various diagnoses, including midwifery clients and those in recovery services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-acuity, high-paced Labor and Delivery setting is required; preferred candidate will have at least 5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring and use of the Epic charting system is required.
• Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications are preferred.
• Experience floating between units and supporting postpartum/antepartum care is necessary.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to working day shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 - 19:30. Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend.

Facility Information

Located in a vibrant community, our facility is equipped with 31 rooms and beds, and handles an average of 15 patients per day with a total of 500-600 deliveries monthly. We are committed to following AWHONN guidelines to ensure best practices in patient care.
