Shift Information
This position is scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Alternative shifts may be available, including variations from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Job Description
The successful candidate will perform mammography tests and develop results to produce high-quality breast images for radiologists. Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate procedures are performed.
- Assisting physicians in special procedures as needed to uphold the standards of care.
- Accessing and handling selected medications as appropriate.
- Conducting Quality Control checks in accordance with industry regulations and notifying supervisors of maintenance needs to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Maintaining accurate documentation in the Radiology Information System to track patient procedures.
- Communicating with patients to explain procedures and ensure their comfort during examinations.
- Fostering positive working relationships with colleagues, medical staff, patients, and visitors to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Providing training and supervision to radiology students during their rotation in the mammography area.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and recommending enhancements to supervisors.
- Staying informed about the latest developments and trends in mammography by attending seminars and reading professional literature.
- Participating in departmental Performance Improvement Programs and attending required meetings.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Accountabilities
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of work processes and customer satisfaction.
- Maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensuring adherence to standards established by accreditation agencies.
- Seeking advice and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist is required.
- ARRT certification is mandatory; ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography is preferred.
- Experience with screening, diagnostic mammograms, and assisting with biopsies and needle localizations is highly preferred.
- Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services or Texas Medical Board is required.

This position is based in Dallas, TX.
