Position Details

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in City, State. This is a night shift position requiring three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients.
• Utilize skills in intravenous (IV) therapy and telemetry monitoring.
• Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Strong experience in stepdown or telemetry units preferred (minimum of 4 years).
• Familiarity with IV therapy skills, including starting and maintaining IVs, and managing central lines.
• Experience in managing dysrhythmias and utilizing IV insulin protocols preferred.

Work Environment

The PCU provides care for various patient diagnoses, including:

• Kidney transplants
• Liver transplants
• Pancreas transplants
• Acute kidney injury (AKI)
• Uncontrolled diabetes
• Gastrointestinal bleed
• Post-procedure recovery including kidney biopsy and paracentesis

The unit staff is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Patient Population

This role primarily involves caring for adult patients within a unit that has a total of 48 beds.

Schedule

Employees will work a rotating schedule that includes weekdays, occasional weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to float to other units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed is required.

Additional Information

• Candidates with travel nursing experience are preferred.
• No specific requests for time off will be accommodated between 2/15/26 and 2/28/26.
