Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to the patient's needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify patient needs and establish care priorities through thorough assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Conduct assessments based on patient problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and a comprehensive health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient care.
• Manage the care of patients effectively.
• Document care and nursing interventions according to established standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovative practices in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Experience

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in acute adult oncology, specifically in leukemia and lymphoma within an inpatient setting.

Education

Required Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

Preferred Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse License or multi-state compact license.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure

• Telemetry Certification.
• Chemotherapy Certification with the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

Schedule Notes

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required. Pre-assigned holidays are mandatory, and floating to other units is required. Chemotherapy certification is required.
