Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patient needs and assisting physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on the individual needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient needs and determine priorities for care through thorough assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patient issues, physician diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
• Document nursing care in accordance with established standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and support their integration into care delivery.
• Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing practice standards.
• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related specialty is required.

Education Requirements:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license is required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced AWHONN, or Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certifications are preferred.

Schedule:

This position involves a schedule of:

• 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three (3) shifts per week.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Three (3) out of six (6) holidays are required.

Unit Description:

The unit focuses on postpartum, antepartum, labor, and nursery care under a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) model, allowing nurses to be assigned to labor or postpartum roles based on operational needs.
