Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our outpatient cardiovascular surgery clinic in Seattle, WA. This position is a temporary-to-hire role, with an initial contract length of 13 weeks, offering a consistent weekday schedule.

Position Details

• Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Patient Ratios: Days: 1:1
• Daily Census: Approximately 20 patients
• Number of Rooms: 6

Required Qualifications

• Current Washington RN License
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; a preference for 2 years of experience in inpatient settings or cardiac clinics.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

Desired Skills

• Ability to interpret laboratory results
• Experience obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Patient teaching experience
• Familiarity with MRSA swabs and discharge planning

Patient Population

The clinic serves a diverse patient demographic, predominantly adults and geriatrics, with a focus on managing conditions such as:

• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
• Aortic Valve Disease (AVD)
• Multivessel Disease (MVD)
• Tricuspid Valve Disease (TVD)
• Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)
• Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia (IST)
• Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB)
• Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFeEF)

Clinical Setting

This role will focus on pre-surgical patient visits, requiring effective communication with surgeons and schedulers, as well as thorough patient education. The clinic environment necessitates managing highly anxious patients who are preparing for surgery.

Work Environment

The outpatient clinic is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Radiology, and Social Services, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
