7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (40-hour Guarantee)

Position Overview

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing angiography, interventional procedures, and other diagnostic testing. Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessments, pre-medication administration, documentation of the catheterization process, post-procedure care, and patient education. The candidate will be scrubbing in for procedures and assisting fellow team members within the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care:
  • Administer nursing care for catheterization and angiography cardiovascular patients.
  • Conduct cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures according to established protocols.
  • Assist in various procedures including stress echocardiograms, routine treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table assessments, echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Evaluate and screen patients for safety prior to testing and provide sedation monitoring following hospital policies.
  • Perform Holter monitor and Event monitor applications, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and pacemaker interrogations.
  • Insert PICC lines and function as a vascular access expert to meet patient needs.
• Equipment Management:
  • Operate and manage equipment including cardiac output, hemodynamic monitoring devices, pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps, crash carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, and point-of-care testing supplies.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
  • Develop, review, and enhance educational materials and programs related to cardiovascular care.

Qualifications

• Cath Lab RN experience is required.
• Interventional Radiology experience is preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in Electrophysiology is preferred.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation is preferred.
• Familiarity with the operation of intra-aortic balloon pumps is preferred.
• Travel work experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred.

Certifications

• Active Michigan Nursing License (LARA and/or Nursys must state 'Active').
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.

Work Details

This position requires flexibility to be on call for 10 days each month, encompassing IR/Vascular and STEMI cases.
