Position: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Adult)

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: Day/Night Rotation (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Holiday Availability: Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
• Orientation Hours: 24 hours

Licensure and Certifications

• Active New York RN License: Candidates must hold a valid New York Single State RN license (New York is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact)
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred Certifications: PALS, TNCC

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Specialized skills including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Assessment and management of CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
• Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care experience with both adult and pediatric patients, including handling of gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
• Understanding of isolation precautions and triage procedures

Unit Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 for adults and geriatrics
• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Special Equipment Used: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Floating Policy: Staff will be required to float within their skill set when necessary
• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white

The facility is a Magnet-recognized institution and holds certification as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center.
