Required: Yes (First-time travelers preferred with at least 2 years of experience)
Shift Details
- Type: Day Shift
- Hours: 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15)
- Weekend Coverage: Every Other Weekend
- Float Requirement: Required as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in PICU
- Preferred: Neurology Experience
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Skills
- IV Placement and Lab Draw
- Experience managing neurology post-operative patients
Unit Details
The Pediatric ICU is an 8-bed unit specializing in various pediatric diagnoses, including respiratory issues, neurosurgery, and hematology/oncology. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:2 based on acuity but may shift to 1:3 as necessary. The team manages a significant number of neurology post-operative cases. The unit functions as a comprehensive care setting, occasionally taking on roles akin to an intermediate care unit.
Scheduling
A dedicated scheduler will work closely with staff to create an accommodating schedule based on needs, ensuring optimal coverage and flexibility.

Scrubs are not provided; please wear pediatric-friendly tops with navy blue pants.

Requesting time off after booking is not permitted and onsite adjustments may not be accommodated. Frequent call-offs could lead to cancellation of assignments.
