Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. This role is focused on providing high-quality patient care within a dynamic surgical environment.

• Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)

Requirements

• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Preferred
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) - Preferred
• Charting System: Epic - Preferred
• Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
• Trauma Level I & II Experience: Preferred
• Travel Experience: Not required

Skills and Preferences

Preferred skills and experience include:

• Operating Room settings across various specialties, including Pediatric General, General, Transplant, Heart, Kidney, Liver, Lung, Bariatrics, Plastics, Urology, and Vascular.
• Robotic surgery experience in areas such as Colorectal, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Neurological, Orthopedic, Otolaryngologic, and Urologic.
• Familiarity with specific surgical procedures including, but not limited to:
  • Appendectomy
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Thyroidectomy (partial/total)
  • Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical)
  • Abdominoplasty
  • Vascular procedures

Work Environment

The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a daily census of 50-60 patients and 21 operating rooms. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services.

Additional Information

• Float Requirements: May float to other ORs at First Hill Campus
• Call Requirements: Three weekday and three weekend call shifts every six weeks; call response time is 30 minutes.
• Orientation Hours: 40 hours
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Previous permanent staff are not eligible to work as travelers in this unit, regardless of the time elapsed since their prior employment. All candidates must hold an active compact license.
