Position: Respiratory Therapist - RRT
Location: City, State
Shift: Night Shift (4x12-Hour) - 18:45 to 07:15
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist - RRT to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various respiratory care settings, including Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Med/Surg units. This position requires a strong background in respiratory therapy practices and patient care management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and respiratory care, including but not limited to:
- Airway management, including endotracheal and tracheostomy care
- Medication administration via various delivery systems, including nebulizers and metered dose inhalers
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjustments to therapy as needed
- Perform pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Document all patient care activities in the electronic health record system (Epic).
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience in adult critical care settings is required.
- Certifications:
- RRT credentials
- Current NC state license
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- PALS preferred
- NRP preferred
- Skills:
- Proficient in the use of various respiratory equipment, including Servo I and Servo U ventilators
- Experience with bi-level and continuous positive airway pressure (BiPAP/CPAP) therapy
- Ability to manage high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy
- Knowledge of aerosol therapy and medication delivery systems
Work Environment
The Respiratory Care Department is equipped to practice at the top of their license. The candidate will participate in care for a large diverse population, including patients with chronic respiratory conditions and those requiring acute care interventions. This role may involve teamwork in dynamic and fast-paced situations, including managing a significant number of patients per day.
