Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care tailored to the needs of each patient. The nurse will identify patient needs, prioritize care, and coordinate individualized care plans through continuous assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate assessments based on patients' problems or needs, physician's medical diagnoses, and functional health frameworks.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care effectively.
• Document care according to established standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards, supporting the implementation of innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma within an inpatient setting.

Education

• Required Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure

• Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA, NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Preferred Certifications: Telemetry, Chemotherapy Certification with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility and will involve shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts and every other weekend required. There is a holiday requirement, and floating may be necessary.
