Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Dialysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, be proficient in managing a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1, and excel in a charge nurse or team lead role overseeing multiple stations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team within a 21-station dialysis environment.
• Perform dialysis treatments using Fresenius machines, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Cannulate AV grafts and AV fistulas; initiate and set up dialysis treatments.
• Administer blood and blood products as required.
• Conduct post-dialysis procedures, including blood return and access care.
• Monitor and respond to machine alarms, maintaining system integrity.
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
• Implement infection control measures and symptom management strategies.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with prior experience in dialysis.
• Previous charge nurse or team lead experience required.
• BLS certification is required; additional certifications are preferred.
• Experience with acute care inpatient dialysis and chronic outpatient dialysis is favorable.
• Familiarity with Prismaflex machine for CRRT and Fresenius dialysis equipment is preferred.
• Capable of troubleshooting machine alarms and conducting dialysate conductivity testing.

Work Environment

The role requires the nurse to float to various dialysis locations as needed, and may include rotating weekend shifts. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable to the dynamic environment of dialysis care.

Additional Skills Preferred

• Clinical skills in managing fluid overload, hyperkalemia, and other dialysis-related complications.
• Knowledge in symptom management related to dialysis treatments.
• Ability to conduct thorough sterilization procedures and maintain a clean working environment.
