Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Location: City, State

Shift Information:

• Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Unit Type:

Respiratory Therapy - NICU

Qualifications:

• Must have 2 years of experience in a NICU Level III or IV unit.
• Experience in Trauma Level I or II preferred.

Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred

Skills:

• Experience with Emergency Department, Adult Critical Care, and NICU settings.
• Ventilator Management, including High Frequency Jet Ventilation and Oscillating Ventilation.
• Direct Intubation (Neonatal) and assistance in high-risk deliveries.
• Management of Airway Devices and Suctioning Techniques.
• Care for patients with conditions like ARDS, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis.

Duties Include:

• Interpretation and drawing of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).
• Administration of Nitric Oxide and various oxygen therapies.
• Weaning from mechanical ventilation and troubleshooting alarms.

Additional Information:

• Internal floating between departments required; flexibility is essential.
• Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend.
• Orientation hours are set at 40 hours.
• Daily census includes a variety of patient age groups.
• Daily patient load includes a high volume with interdisciplinary support available.

Expectations:

• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage a diverse patient population including neonates and infants.
• Preparation to handle variable patient ratios depending on campus census.
