Position: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: River View Medical Center, City, State

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs.

Responsibilities:

• Identify patient needs and establish priorities for care through comprehensive assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients using initial and ongoing assessments.
• Conduct assessments based on patient problems or needs, medical diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage overall patient care.
• Document patient care according to established standards of practice, considering patient acuity and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of innovative practices in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care consistent with the professional nursing practice model.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry experience is required.

Education:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing school is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Telemetry Certification or successful completion of the Telemetry Competency Exam is required.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.
• New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license is required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is required.
• Telemetry Certification is required.
• CEU Contact for Stroke - 4 hours is required.

Schedule Notes:

• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: No holidays required
• Float Requirement: May float to other Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units as needed

Experience Requirements:

• 1-2 years of Telemetry experience is required.
• 2+ years of experience is preferred.

Additional Skills:

• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
