• Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
• IABP Placement/Removal
• Impella Insertion
• Left Heart Catheterization
• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
• Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
• Right Heart Catheterization
• Temporary Pacemaker Placement
• Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
• Fluoroscopy Equipment Proficiency
• Vascular Closure Systems (e.g., Perclose, StarClose)

Preferred Skills:

• Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
• Pulmonary Artery (PA) Line Insertion
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Watchman Procedure

Professional Knowledge:

• Isolation Precautions
• Use of Rapid Response/Code Teams (preferred)

Procedural Responsibilities:

• Accurate Monitoring
• Equipment Setup
• Perform EKG Lead Placement
• Prepare Access Site
• Recognize Life-Threatening Arrhythmias
• Act as Room Circulator
• Maintain a Sterile Field

Unit Details:

• Daily Census: 17 patients
• Number of Rooms: 4
• Interdisciplinary Support Available: Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy
• Special Equipment: Sterotaxis Lab (occasionally utilized)

Additional Information:

• Pre-Approved Time Off: Up to 2 Requests
• Orientation Hours: 36 hours
• Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
