Position Overview

We are seeking experienced healthcare professionals for a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) role. This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts over the course of a week, totaling 36 hours. The candidate will have no on-call requirements and will participate in a holiday rotation if scheduled. Flexibility is essential, as the role will require floating to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and emergency department (ED) patient holds when necessary.

Schedule

• Shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Hours: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday rotation as scheduled

Orientation Dates

• March 16
• March 30

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current PICU or pediatric intensive care experience required
• Willingness to float to NICU and assist with ED patient holds as necessary
• PALS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records required
• Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA

Additional Information

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. A professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the last 24 months is preferred but not mandatory.
