Position Overview

We are seeking experienced operating room nurses for a full-time opportunity in a dynamic healthcare environment. The role requires proficiency in various surgical specialties, including cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. Candidates must be prepared to work rotating shifts and meet specific weekend and on-call requirements.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 4x10 hour shifts with rotating days off
• Weekend Call: Friday at 5 PM through Monday at 6:30 AM
• On Call Requirements: Up to 2 overnights per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience
• Experience in circulating/operating room capacities
• Strong and proficient experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Basic experience in general surgery circulating (if not assigned to cardiac cases)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical systems within the last 3 years
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience is highly preferred
• Previous experience in travel assignments within the last 12 months is required
• Scrub experience, including open heart scrubbing, is necessary

Position Qualifications

• Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license is required
• Skills checklist must align with the Operating Room Nurse or Scrub/Scrubbing discipline
• Professional references from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager/director within the last 24 months are preferred
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is necessary
