Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position requires a commitment to providing excellent respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients within a large academic medical center setting.

Key Details:

• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Travel Experience: Not required, but previous travel experience is preferred.
• Floating Requirements: Will be required to float between campuses at the facility’s discretion.
• Work Settings: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Med/Surg floors, and PCU.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize airway management devices and perform suctioning procedures.
• Conduct extubation and placement of nasal and oral airways.
• Administer pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Administer medications via various inhalation delivery systems, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Manage ventilators, including BiPAP and CPAP, troubleshoot alarms, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation.
• Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) to assess patient needs accurately.

Preferred Certifications & Skills:

• Valid Ohio State License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in pharmacological treatments including, but not limited to, Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, and Nitric Oxide.
• Familiarity with equipment such as GE Ventilators and Hamilton preferred vent.

Patient Care:

The therapist will provide care for a diverse patient population with diagnoses including:

• COPD
• Asthma
• Cancer
