Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team for night shifts. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in high-risk neonatal respiratory procedures and possess a strong foundation in both clinical and specialized respiratory care.

- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00)
- Scheduling: Other
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend with variable coverage
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in respiratory therapy, specifically in NICU
- Travel Experience: Not required
- Licensure/Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Skills:
- Direct intubation of neonates
- Extubation and airway management
- Medication administration via various delivery systems
- Ventilator management and troubleshooting
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Basic EKG knowledge
Work Environment
This position involves working closely in a fast-paced NICU environment, providing specialized respiratory care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. The therapist will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Pediatric Critical Care and Airway Management
- Familiarity with neonatal medication administration
- Experience with various ventilators, particularly Draeger and Servo I
Orientation
Successful candidates will complete a 24-hour orientation to ensure familiarity with unit protocols and equipment.
