Position: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse
Shift Details
- Schedule: Day Shift, 4x10 Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
- Orientation Hours: 10 hours
Job Responsibilities
The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. Key duties include:
- Monitoring patient conditions and conducting assessments
- Assisting in various vascular studies and procedures such as angioplasty and carotid stenting
- Skillfully managing dysrhythmias and ensuring patient safety during procedures
- Implementing pressure ulcer assessments and prevention strategies
- Performing sheath removals and monitoring post-procedure recovery
- Utilizing vascular closure systems (e.g., Perclose, StarClose) as required
- Ensuring compliance with radiation and laser safety protocols
- Utilizing the Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale for appropriate patient evaluation

- Patient Ratios: 1:1 during day shifts
- Average Daily Caseload: 18 patients
- Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
- Number of Rooms: 4

The Interventional Radiology team collaborates with various support services including:
- IV Teams

Qualifications
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required
- Charting System: Experience with Epic is required

- Call Requirement: Yes, with a variable amount of call based on staffing
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2-week period, with potential call-offs for 1 shift per 2-week period
