Description
Position:
Inpatient Rehab Speech Language Pathologist
Location:
City, State
Shift:
- Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
- Some Weekends Required - Approximately 2 weekend days per month

- Number of Beds: 36 in Inpatient Rehabilitation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments for patients with speech and swallowing disorders.
- Implement individualized therapy plans based on patient needs and current standards of practice.
- Manage and treat adult patients with conditions such as CVA, dysphagia, and degenerative diseases.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques including FEES, Modified Barium Swallow Studies, and compensatory strategies.
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies and rehabilitation techniques.
- Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with facility protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a speech-language pathology role, preferably in an acute rehabilitation setting.
- Current AK SLP license and BLS certification are required.
- Experience in acute care or adult rehabilitation facility settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of dysphagia management, laryngectomy, and alternative communication devices.
- Ability to effectively communicate and educate diverse patient populations and their families.
