Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Med Surg or Stepdown Nurse to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, including responsibilities in a Level 3 trauma center. The position includes weekend shifts every other weekend, and the selected candidate will be required to float to the Emergency Room (ER) when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver acute care to patients, managing critical medications including gtts and drips.
• Comfortably administer BiPAP and manage critical care gtts.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize EPIC software for patient documentation and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of previous Med Surg or Stepdown experience.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Active state nursing license in Iowa is required, with the ability to apply for an Illinois license upon job offer.
• Current certifications in ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with weekend shifts scheduled every other weekend. There are no on-call requirements.
