Position: CVOR, Operating Room RN

Shift: Evenings, 5x8-Hour (14:30 - 23:00) or a combination of 2x8 and 2x12 shifts

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) for adult and geriatric patients.
• Participate in surgical procedures, supporting the surgical team and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses during operations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care strategies.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Be on-call for additional shifts as needed, including weekends.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years overall operating room experience, with at least 2 years in cardiac and vascular specialties.
• 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility.
• 1 year of CVOR experience required.
• Current certification in BLS and NIHSS is required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Required Skills:

• Experience with cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve surgeries, and TAVR.
• Familiarity with thoracic and vascular surgical techniques.
• Knowledge of robotic surgical systems, such as the Da Vinci Surgical Systems, is preferred.
• Strong competencies in infection control, specimen handling, and wound management.

Work Environment:

• CVOR setting with 7 operating rooms.
• Focus on heart and vascular care, including surgical interventions and emergency care.
• Flexible scheduling and weekend call duties as needed.
