Unit Information
Join our team in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit, specializing in oncology care. This unit focuses on a variety of hematological conditions and provides a supportive environment for patients undergoing specialized treatments.
Job Details
- Location: City, State
- Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) or Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling
- Orientation Hours: 72 hours
- Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: Approximately 33 patients
- Number of Beds: 36
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Must possess current MS oncology and at least 1 year of hematology/oncology experience.
- Experience must be within the last 3 years, with at least 1 year of current specialty experience.
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
Preferred Certifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Required Skills
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
- Feeding tube care and management
- Administration of blood products
- Central line blood draws
- PICC line management
- Nasal cannula administration

Special Unit Procedures
- Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells.
- Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin.
- Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from a sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor.
- CAR-T Therapy
Additional Information
